Pastor's Corner Calendar History Disciples in Action About St. Paul's  
Witness Ministry
Mission:  To lead this congregation in witnessing to the gospel of Jesus Christ, the support the faith development of our members, and to serve the needs of the local community and intentionally reach out to others world-wide.

St. Paul's members volunteer to supply the church with the following positions to assist Witness Ministry:
 

Activity Bags Coordinator Maintains an adequate supply of activity bags and contents consisting of crayons, paper and children's bulletins.  The activity (busy) bags are used by children attending worship services.
Bible Study Groups Bible Study is an integral part of Christian development to witness to others.  Two groups currently meet in the parlor as follows:
  Afternoon Apostles - Thursdays at 1:00 PM
Men's Bibles and Bagels - Saturdays at 8:00AM
Care Giving Ministry and Special Social Outreach Projects Serves others by sending note cards or by making phone calls to members in need of our prayers and support.
Child Care Provides care for the children of a member who is hospitalized suddenly or unable to care of his / her children in a time of crisis.
Coffee Hour Host / Hostess Coordinates and/or serves on a team to offer coffee and cookies during the monthly coffee hour and fellowship times.  Responsibilities include set-up, make coffee, donate and/or serve coffee cakes, bagels, etc, and clean up.
College Transportation Provides transportation to the students of Messiah College who wish to attend worship services.
Companion Sitting Sits with a member while his/her caregiver does grocery shopping, keeps an appointment, etc.
Family Ministry Coordinates family-focused fellowship events.
Fellowship and Recreation Ministry Provides the people of St. Paul's with opportunities to meet together socially.
Meal Ministry Provides meals to members who are in need during times of distress.
New Hope Ministry Team Collects food and clothing and provides support to people in need.  Volunteers are needed to transport weekly church donations of foodstuff to New Hope Ministries.  In addition, these volunteers serve as New Hope Ministries Board members.
Prayer Chain E-mail distribution list used to communicate prayer requests in times of joy and sorrow for members and non-members of the congregation.
Quilting Group Creates blankets of warmth for people in need.  Cuts, irons, designs, ties/knots, layers, sews borders and squares for quilts.  No experience is needed and instruction is available.  Quilters meet every Thursday morning at 9:00 AM except during the summer months.
Special Dinners / Events Assists in preparation of food and beverages for special dinners (i.e.: funerals, services).  May also be responsible for set-up and clean up.
Social Ministry Team Oversees outreach projects such as The Heifer Project, Lutheran World Relief Ingathering Sunday, Christmas Giving Tree, Central PA Blood Bank, and Habitat for Humanity.
Visitor Response Team Welcomes and assists visitors, guides tours, and provides a way of follow-up.
Website Manager Maintains the official congregation website.  Sermons are posted as available and information is updated at the beginning of every month or more often as required.
Youth Group Leader Organizes Youth Ministry for grades six and up.
